Our product has been powering the Distribution Centre Management System at retail giant, Shoppers Stop. Here is what an InformationWeek article says about the deployment:

Post deployment of this system, stockouts have decreased by 17 percent and stores are better stocked, resulting in the availability of the right product at the right time. Accuracy of dispatches to the store has improved by 20 percent. There have been cost savings too; manpower requirements at the Distribution Center have reduced by 10 percent. All this has resulted in more customer satisfaction, increased sales and subsequently a boost in market share.

Key Features

Stocks Management
The Stock management module facilitates the management of various stock processes within the warehouse and stores. The system downloads the required information for the stock from the backed enterprise systems on to a handheld scanner. This is then verified against the actual and the data is submitted back to the backend system wirelessly. Modules include Stocks Receipt, Stocks Transfer, Stocks Return and Periodic Stock Take.

Rack Shelf Management
The backend enterprise systems defines the required position to place the received stocks at rack and shelves defined in the various stores and warehouses. These required values are downloaded on to the handheld scanner and the good are scanned and placed at the required rack shelves as per the defined positions. Deviations to the defined positions are noted. The result of the scans and the deviations are then updated on the server.

Store Queue Management
The store queue management system is used to reduce the waiting time for shoppers at payment counters queues. The queue management system enables store staff to scan and list the items while the person is waiting in queue. The person can view the number of items purchased and the bill for the same. This information is sent wirelessly to the POS system for further billing. The buyer would have a ready bill when she reaches the counter. This greatly improves the efficiency at the POS counter.

Web based control module and MIS
A web based control module provides a workflow based approach to assign tasks to users who can then retrieve information on their handheld devices for processing. The approval option enables defined supervisors to monitor processes on the web and approve the results from the handheld scanners. The web interface provides other standard functions such as user management, access control, and store and warehouse master management.

The system also provides different types of MIS such as number of processes for the day, the efficiency of warehouse staff, processes with errors in the expected and the actual values etc.
